About
I studied makeup after several dismal wedding trials for my own nuptials. Following graduation, I worked and travelled the globe honing my skills from the best makeup artists & hairstylists. I've been fortunate enough to do makeup for Miranda Kerr, Abbie Lee Kershaw, Elle MacPherson and Megan Gale to name just a few! I continue to work in fashion but just love the excitement and buzz that surrounds special occasions such as weddings, I'd love to meet you & be a part of your day too!

What do I need to know about before booking one in for my wedding?
Two Hearts
There are a few basic pieces of information makeup artists require before quoting brides which will be helpful straight off the bat... like what time of day the wedding is, what time you need to be ready by, how many people are getting ready and the location of preparation. If you have any allergies (eg. Latex, vitamin A, etc) .
but there are a few questions you should also ask your makeup/hair stylist...
If your main concern is budget: Ask what the price per head is, how much they charge for travel, if lashes and hair fillers are included. How much the booking fee is and if it's redeemable, and lastly if a
trial is included.
If you have a large group, are celebrating an early wedding, special skin requirements (like covering tattoos) or are on location (somewhere remote or seaside without amenities) it's important to ask for a realistic time line for each person and how many artists will be required for the day. Don't forget that artists come from different locations and will add separate travel to the quotation.
People with sensitive skin are recommended to ask what products the stylists use and it's helpful if you know what ingredients you are allergic to. Most professionals use reputable brands that are suitable for sensitive skin and photography (to avoid bounce back and the dreaded "white face").
how to stop my lipstick coming off on my hubby's face when we kiss after the ceremony?
Two Hearts
There are some fantastic long wearing lipsticks on the market that stay for HOURS.
Depending on your desired look,
Your makeup artist should fill your lips with liner first as it will help hold the lippy on and also mean you apply less lipstick for less transfer. You can then blott the lips and for even more longevity dust with powder.
With the resurgence of matte and semi matte lip textures, there's a great choice out there that you can just apply with minimal transfer.
Glosses will always transfer and will also soften the lipstick underneath creating the lipstick under to transfer too.
Can I bring my bridesmaids to my Makeup/Hair trials?
I'm indecisive and need a firm hand to tell me if I look good!
Two Hearts
For me personally I like one on one time with the bride.
When you are in someone's personal space on one of the most important events of their lives, it's essential you have a great connection with that person to keep them calm, relaxed and in a great frame of mind.
As an artist it's my time to really get to understand the face and the person I'm working on to create exactly what YOU want, not what your friends want. But if you look in the mirror and are not sure that you look good, then the makeup is not right. Get the artist to take pictures, change the look, take more pictures and compare...
You should look in the mirror and say yes! I look good and feel like myself.
Of course there exceptions to the rule... makeup trial before the hens party etc or if the maids would also like their makeup done.
Hope this helps you to pick the makeup artist right for you...
