Do I need a Bridal trial?

It is always recommended that the bride, one bridesmaid and any other more particular bridal party members book a trial. If under the circumstances this is not possible, it is highly recommended that at least the bride-to-be schedules a trial as this helps to ensure the day runs smooth, all controllable events will go according to plan, and that we are able to make your wedding as perfect as possible.

When should I do the Bridal trial?

This depends on what the bride prefers and when the artist has times available to book. If the bride is quite certain of what their desired look is and has viewed the artist’s previous work, it is generally recommended that the bride schedules their trial to be approximately 3-4 months before the booked wedding date. This is suggested so that the artist and bride have adequate time after the trial to purchase any new necessary products (eg. specific lipstick), to consider any changes to the look, if a second trial is required (in extreme cases) and (in very rare cases) if a different artist is needed to be found.

Will I get the same artist at my trial on my wedding day?

Our brides will always get the same artist for the trial and the wedding day.

How long does a trial take and what can I expect?

On average, a hair and makeup trial takes around 3 hours. If you only require one service (hair or make-up), this will take around 2 hours. It involves a detailed consultation where we discuss logistics, allergies, concerns, products, skincare routines & take our time designing and a look that you will love - afterwards adapting it if you choose.

What should I bring to the trial?

It is recommended that the bride starts collecting inspirational photos of their desired hair and makeup and any pictures (along with an opinion) of their hair and makeup from previous professional applications, as it will help us in understanding the look you desire, your particular likes & dislikes. If you have removable hair extensions, please ensure that you bring them. Also, if you have any specific products you would like used, feel free to bring them along too!?

How do I best remove my make-up?

a) General Make-Up Removal: Any basic make-up products (eg. foundation, mascara, powder, etc.) may be removed with a common make-up remover such as micellar water, cleanser, wet wipes, etc. For stubborn make-up residue, use an oil-infused cleansing product. b) False Eyelash Removal Strip/Bar lashes may be removed simply by peeling them off from one corner of the eyelid to the other. ?Individual lashes may be r one at a time with your fingers or a tweeter but be gentle as not to pull your own lashes out in the process.? If by any chance they are glued to some of your natural eyelashes, remove them by soaking a cotton pad in remover, & holding it on the closed eye for a minute to loosen the adhesive.

What products do you use? Do you have Vegan/Cruelty-Free Options?

All products used on our clients are of a high-end brand and quality. The products within our kits are suitable for all skin tones and types. We also offer fully Vegan + Cruelty-free products.

I have sensitive skin; will your products work for me?

All products utilized in our kits are tested on multiple skin/hair types and sensitivities.

?However, there is always a small chance the client may react to the products used on their skin or scalp. To ensure this does not occur during the official application for a special event (where time is limited), a trial is recommended so that any sensitivities or previous application history may be discussed to perfect a personal routine.

Do you offer touch-ups? What are the options?

What preparations should I take before my booking?

The preparation information provided below is generalised without accounting for your particular skin, hair type and budget. While we ask you to follow the preparation tips below, do not disregard your experience with your own hair, skin and budget requirements.

a) Make-Up Preparation:

Exfoliate your skin once a week from now until the appointment, including 24 hrs before the appointment. A chemical exfoliant (Eg. AHAs or PHAs) is preferred as it’s more gentle on the skin, otherwise a physical granular (Eg. with micro-beads or raw sugar) exfoliate used softly (do not scrub) is fine.

Keep your skin moisturised from now until the appointment (Eg. Moisturiser twice daily)

Arrive with fully clean skin (no makeup) for the appointment where possible

Do not get any professional chemical peels or face treatments less than 3 days before the appointment

If you’re having a spray tan with another service provider, do not have it applied to your face if possible

b) Hair Preparation:

Wash your hair with a (silicon and sulphur-free) within 24 hrs of the appointment. Do so by shampooing your scalp twice & conditioning the ends once. Use silicone and sulphur-free shampoo & conditioner where possible.

Do not apply any heat styling tools or products after this time unless it is simply to dry the hair with a blow dryer (do not blow wave the hair via a brush and hairdryer as this will stretch the hair strands & make it less susceptible to the curling).

Arrive with dry hair.

c) Spray Tan Preparation:

Exfoliate & moisturise leading up to your appointment. When moisturising, pay particular attention to the drier areas of skin such as the elbows, knees, ankles, toes, fingers, etc.

If you can, shave 48 hours prior to the application as this will allow time for your skin to settle and help avoid dark dots in your pores.

Avoid using a type of bar soaps, high pH products, oil-based products or in-shower moisturisers for 24 hours before the appointment. These products often act as a barrier against your skin & hence, prevent the tan from developing.

Arrive at the appointment with entirely clean skin (no make-up, no perfume, no moisturiser, or no deodorant) to prevent discolouration or patchiness.

Dark loose undergarments and clothing should be worn to and from the appointment to prevent any lines in the skin and from the tan transferring. It is also recommended that you wear open-toe shoes such as flip-flops/thongs.

You may get your spray tan done in whatever you are comfortable wearing (eg. nothing, dark g-string, bra, bathers, etc.
