{"id":193822,"date":"2014-07-23T14:00:53","date_gmt":"2014-07-23T04:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/garden-wedding-in-melbourne-forecast-for-loved-up-couple\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T16:10:35","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T05:10:35","slug":"garden-wedding-in-melbourne-forecast-for-loved-up-couple","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/garden-wedding-in-melbourne-forecast-for-loved-up-couple\/","title":{"rendered":"Garden wedding in Melbourne forecast for loved up couple"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">From an icy proposal to a blistering summer wedding, Rei Sak and Damon Troughton certainly brought the weather with them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDamon\u2019s\u00a0[37]\u00a0proposal was the most romantic thing he had ever done for me,\u201d says Rei, 34. \u201cHe knew how much I loved the snow so being winter still in England [where they were living at the time] he was waiting for the perfect day when it would snow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the soft ice never fell and their anniversary was fast approaching. \u201cHe thought he would create the perfect winter wonderland.&#8221; says Rei. &#8220;He went and bought a snow machine and covered our whole back garden in snow!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward to their garden wedding on January 10, 2014 in Melbourne, the sun was shining at its fullest. \u201cIt was a beautiful 38-degree day in the height of summer in Melbourne,\u201d explains Rei.<\/p>\n<p>Fitting for their romantic theming, the day began with a traditional tea ceremony in the morning at the couple\u2019s home with their closest family and friends. This was followed by the ceremony and reception at <a title=\"Rippon Lea\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Melbourne\/RipponLea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ripponlea Estate and Gardens<\/a> in Elsternwick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had anticipated that it was going to be quite a warm day, so we sourced some handmade paper fans from Etsy,\u201d says Rei. \u201cThey had different love quotes written on them that we had chosen &#8211;
