{"id":193811,"date":"2014-06-29T14:00:44","date_gmt":"2014-06-29T04:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/high-flying-romance-traditional-wedding-jessica-nick\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T16:06:19","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T05:06:19","slug":"high-flying-romance-traditional-wedding-jessica-nick","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/high-flying-romance-traditional-wedding-jessica-nick\/","title":{"rendered":"High-flying romance: the traditional wedding of Jessica &amp; Nick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Sometimes you are lucky enough to be seated next to a hottie on the plane, but you don\u2019t usually expect a romance to blossom.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to Nick Corrick\u2019s observation skills, a conversation was started with Jessica Robson \u2013 Brisbanites both Melbourne-bound for the <em>Hamish\u00a0&amp; Andy Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was playing Sudoku and he must have thought I needed help as he leant over my shoulder, pointed to an empty box and said \u2018that\u2019s a nine\u2019,\u201d recalls Jessica, 27. \u201cWe went to the show together and spent the night out partying in Melbourne.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward about a year-and-a-half and the couple got engaged in Fiji. \u201cNick [30] took me sailing on a Hobie Cat \u2013 it was a beautiful sunny day and the water was crystal clear,\u201d explains Jessica. \u201cAs I started to relax and enjoy the view of the horizon Nick got on one knee and pulled out a gorgeous one-carat diamond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The couple were married at <a title=\"Glengariff Historic Estate - Easy Weddings\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Brisbane\/GlengariffHistoricEstate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glengariff Historic Estate<\/a> in Daybrook on March 29, 2014. Ironically, the groom was late to their traditional wedding. \u201cNick had car trouble and was late,\u201d says Jessica.\u00a0\u201cHis father called me and told me I needed to be even later!
