{"id":193584,"date":"2015-07-26T14:00:45","date_gmt":"2015-07-26T04:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/prue-clayton-return-special-spot-waterfont-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T17:16:17","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T06:16:17","slug":"prue-clayton-return-special-spot-waterfont-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/prue-clayton-return-special-spot-waterfont-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Prue &amp; Clayton return to special spot before waterfont wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">The fig tree grove at <a title=\"Brisbane Botanic Gardens\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Brisbane\/BotanicalCafeandFunctionMtCootha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brisbane Botanic Gardens<\/a> holds a special place in the hearts of newlyweds Prue Harvey and Clayton Warner.<\/p>\n<p>They shared their first date at the picturesque location, it was where Clayton, 32, gave Prue, 29, her custom-designed engagement ring, and\u00a0it was the spot Clayton got the first glimpse of his beautiful bride.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wanted to have a special moment just for us so we planned a <a title=\"First look photos that will make your heart melt\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/blogs\/uncategorized\/15-first-look-photos-that-will-make-your-heart-melt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first look<\/a>\u00a0before the ceremony in our special spot,&#8221; Prue explains.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When he took off his blindfold, I watched a complete change of expression go across his face. I could see he was thinking &#8216;Wow, that&#8217;s my girl&#8217;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A heartfelt waterfront\u00a0wedding, which was held on an unseasonably hot day on April 18, 2015, followed in parklands at <a title=\"Riverlife\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Brisbane\/Riverlife\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Riverlife<\/a>, Kangaroo Point in front of 95 friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>The reception was held in the venue&#8217;s sunset marquee and was decorated in a country garden theme with touches of lilac, burlap and lace.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The tables were overflowing with relaxed posies of country blooms in lilac and peach,&#8221; Prue says.<\/p>\n<p>A trivia quiz on the couple, a four-piece band and a vintage gelato van helped get the party started.<\/p>\n<p>Prue says the day could be summed up by the simple note Clayton had written her on the morning of the wedding: Today is our day and we are going to soak it up and enjoy it. &#8220;He
