{"id":193579,"date":"2015-07-25T14:00:31","date_gmt":"2015-07-25T04:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/the-wedding-planner-rebekah-marries-douglas-at-vintage-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T17:14:21","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T06:14:21","slug":"the-wedding-planner-rebekah-marries-douglas-at-vintage-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/the-wedding-planner-rebekah-marries-douglas-at-vintage-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"The wedding planner: Rebekah marries Doug at vintage wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Always the organiser,\u00a0never the bride!<\/p>\n<p>That is the tune Rebekah O\u2019Connor was singing in her role as event manager at <a title=\"Wynnum Golf Club\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Brisbane\/WynnumGolfClub\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wynnum Golf Club<\/a> until one day, she had a wedding of her very own to plan. \u201cFor the past five years I have been an event manager and have organised over 300 weddings for other brides,\u201d the 26-year-old explains. \u201cFinally it was my turn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She married police officer Douglas Roberts, 31, on April 11, 2015 with a vintage wedding at Queensland&#8217;s Mount Tamborine.\u00a0The pair met in Darwin where Doug was patrolling the Mindle Beach Markets with colleagues. \u201cOut of a crowd of thousands our eyes met and he gave me a cheeky wink and smile,\u201d smiles Rebekah. \u201cMy brother wrote my number down and handed it to him in front of a large group of officers. From that day on we were inseparable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bride and groom chose <a title=\"Coolibah Downs Private Estate\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/GoldCoast\/CoolibahDownsPrivateEstate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coolibah Downs<\/a> for their ceremony and <a title=\"Cedar Creek Lodges\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/GoldCoast\/CedarCreekLodges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cedar Creek Lodges<\/a> for their reception. \u201cWe had pre-dinner canap\u00e9s on a large deck over the rainforest with putt putt as an activity. We had a choreographed <a title=\"The 10 most popular first dance wedding songs in the world\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/articles\/the-10-most-popular-first-dance-wedding-songs-in-the-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first dance<\/a> on our main entrance as a
