{"id":193573,"date":"2015-07-20T14:00:07","date_gmt":"2015-07-20T04:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/wedding-box-alex-dans-intimate-wedding-adelaide\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T17:12:04","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T06:12:04","slug":"wedding-box-alex-dans-intimate-wedding-adelaide","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/wedding-box-alex-dans-intimate-wedding-adelaide\/","title":{"rendered":"Wedding in a box: Alex &amp; Dan&#8217;s intimate wedding in Adelaide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Why was this bride more worried about mixing apple juice and lemonade than the weather before her wedding day?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFive days before our wedding we found out that I was five weeks pregnant,\u201d smiles Alex Argenio, who married her love Daniel Spooner on January 3, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>While her concerns ranged from not drinking on her wedding day to whether or not her <a title=\"Dress Designers - Easy Weddings\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/DressDesigners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dress<\/a> would still fit, mostly the pair, aged 26 and 28 respectively, were filled with joy. \u201cThat week we discovered several things like; if you mix lemonade and apple juice together they strikingly resemble Champagne,\u201d laughs Alex.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately hiding a pregnancy was the least of their problems, as bushfires in Adelaide meant their wedding venue Glen Ewin Estate was in lockdown. Realising the troubles didn\u2019t even compare to the devastation residents in the area were experiencing, the couple calmly cancelled their wedding. But just a few hours later, they decided to make do with the house they had rented in North Adelaide and have a \u201cwedding in a box\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fabulous people in our lives created absolute magic that day,\u201d says Alex. \u201cThey visited shops, suppliers and rang in favours to be able to pull together a <a title=\"Wedding Cakes - Easy Weddings\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingCakes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cake<\/a>, furniture, a cellist, decorations, drinks and food.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The pair were married in\u00a0an intimate wedding of 40 guests, in what Alex describes as \u201ca dining room absolutely brimming with love, eating party pies and everyone crying with relief that it had all worked.\u201d
