{"id":193568,"date":"2015-08-09T14:00:29","date_gmt":"2015-08-09T04:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/feels-like-home-abbey-danes-rustic-vintage-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T17:10:24","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T06:10:24","slug":"feels-like-home-abbey-danes-rustic-vintage-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/feels-like-home-abbey-danes-rustic-vintage-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Feels like home: Abbey and Dane&#8217;s rustic vintage wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">High-school darlings Abbey Homfray and Dane Avery began their love affair in year 10.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had our first <a title=\"10 fun (and crazy) facts about kissing\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/blogs\/easy-weddings-blog\/10-fun-facts-about-kissing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kiss<\/a> at the year 10 school ball,\u201d says Abbey of the pair, both 26. \u201cFrom that day on we have been by each other&#8217;s side.\u201d They then survived two years long distance before Dane popped the big question while on a summer holiday to Kangaroo Island.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a cold evening and we were sitting on the balcony sipping wine and talking about the good times ahead,\u201d explains Abbey. \u201cDane then disappeared and returned on one knee with a gorgeous <a title=\"Engagement ring trends\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/articles\/engagement-ring-trends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">engagement ring<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Planning was full-steam ahead and they married on March 28, 2015 at their rustic vintage wedding in Mildura, Victoria. \u201cOur wedding was very personal and, as it was in our hometown where our families live, we were able to involve them in the preparation as well as on the wedding day,\u201d explains the bride. This inclusion\u00a0spread from having their\u00a0niece and nephew in the bridal party, a brother reading a poem, mum making the wedding cake and pop polishing its red gum stand!<\/p>\n<p>The couple saw one another before the ceremony at Ampelon Gardens. \u201cPrior to the ceremony, our photographers captured our &#8216;<a title=\"First look: Groom's awesome reaction to seeing his bride-to-be\"
