Just as they spent the night they were engaged, Natasha Mammone and Jonathon Carter celebrated their wedding under the stars.

Thirty-three-year-old Jon proposed to Natasha, 26, at sunset in Kruger National Park, South Africa. The romantic gesture was followed by a “memorable night under the stars with animals below”, says the bride. “We felt it was so important to us both that we shared part of this experience with our family and friends at our wedding.”

The pair did that by choosing a unique set-up for their relaxed wedding on March 21, 2015. “We had an outdoor ceremony on a private lakeside property followed by an outside marquee reception,” explains Natasha. “We organised a clear roof marquee so we could gaze into the sky all night long and our memory of South Africa could now be shared with our most important people.”

The marquee-with-a-twist made for stunning photos as the sun fell on Noosa’s north shore in Queensland. “We decided to use long tables just like you were at your home and had table after table touching each other just so you could fit your whole family on one,” says Natasha. This setup was also complemented by another homely touch – a spice bar. “Each guest was given an empty jar…and chose a spice of their choice, filled their jar, took the recipe and now can share the meal with family and friends.”
