An elaborately planned proposal led to an arty wedding celebration\u00a0for these two young designers who have won our August Wedding of the Year<\/a> competition.<\/p>\n Congratulations Jayde and Alex<\/a> and their photographer Damien Furey!<\/p>\n They have taken out the eighth spot in our Top 12, winning a $1000 voucher from Michael Hill<\/a>\u00a0and the chance to vie for a luxe (second) honeymoon at InterContinental Fiji<\/a>\u00a0flying business class with Fiji Airways<\/a>.<\/p>\n Alex’s proposal involved kerosene and rope and although that sounds almost criminal, to Jayde, it was unbelievably romantic!<\/p>\n She says,\u00a0“Without me knowing Alex\u00a0had been creating an enormous sign out of kerosene-soaked rope saying \u2018Will You Marry Me?\u2019 that was lit on FIRE!\u201d<\/p>\n The NSW couple, who\u00a0recently moved to Tasmania, chose not to live together before getting hitched which meant their engagement was quite short – just six months.<\/p>\n Vows were exchanged at Pymble Uniting Church where rope made a cameo appearance in a hand-tying ceremony. Then it was onto warehouse-turned-restaurant, Koskela Kitchen<\/a>,\u00a0for the reception.<\/p>\n Flowers featured prominently from the girls’ gorgeous bouquets to Jayde’s amazing hairpiece and Alex even ramped things up with a floral tie from Roger David<\/a>.<\/p>\n “The evening culminated into a night of dance-offs, sweat and LOTS of laughter,” recalls Jayde.<\/p>\n
