{"id":193471,"date":"2015-10-01T02:21:18","date_gmt":"2015-09-30T16:21:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/wedding-of-the-year-jayde-alex-win-august\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T17:38:59","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T06:38:59","slug":"wedding-of-the-year-jayde-alex-win-august","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/wedding-of-the-year-jayde-alex-win-august\/","title":{"rendered":"Wedding of the Year: Jayde and Alex win August"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">An elaborately planned proposal led to an arty wedding celebration\u00a0for these two young designers who have won our August <a title=\"Wedding of the Year Competition\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/wedding-of-the-year-competition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wedding of the Year<\/a> competition.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations <a title=\"Alex lights Jayde\u2019s heart on fire before boho wedding\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/alex-lights-jaydes-heart-on-fire-before-boho-wedding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jayde and Alex<\/a> and their photographer Damien Furey!<\/p>\n<p>They have taken out the eighth spot in our Top 12, winning a $1000 voucher from <a href=\"http:\/\/ewed.us\/MHWOTY\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Hill<\/a>\u00a0and the chance to vie for a luxe (second) honeymoon at <a href=\"http:\/\/ewed.us\/IFE\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">InterContinental Fiji<\/a>\u00a0flying business class with <a href=\"http:\/\/ewed.us\/FAE\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fiji Airways<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Alex&#8217;s proposal involved kerosene and rope and although that sounds almost criminal, to Jayde, it was unbelievably romantic!<\/p>\n<p>She says,\u00a0&#8220;Without me knowing Alex\u00a0had been creating an enormous sign out of kerosene-soaked rope saying \u2018Will You Marry Me?\u2019 that was lit on FIRE!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The NSW couple, who\u00a0recently moved to Tasmania, chose not to live together before getting hitched which meant their engagement was quite short &#8211; just six months.<\/p>\n<p>Vows were exchanged at Pymble Uniting Church where rope made a cameo appearance in a hand-tying ceremony. Then it was onto warehouse-turned-restaurant, <a title=\"Koskela Kitchen\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Sydney\/KoskelaKitchen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Koskela Kitchen<\/a>,\u00a0for the reception.<\/p>\n<p>Flowers featured prominently from the girls&#8217; gorgeous bouquets to Jayde&#8217;s amazing hairpiece and Alex even ramped things up with a floral tie from <a title=\"Roger David\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/FormalWear\/Canberra\/RogerDavid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Roger David<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The evening culminated into a night of dance-offs, sweat and LOTS of laughter,&#8221; recalls Jayde.<\/p>\n<p>A huge and heartfelt thank you to our eight other <a title=\"August 2015 Nominees\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/competition\/august-2015-nominees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nominees<\/a> who sent us shivers with
