And while Catherine didn\u2019t hesitate in saying yes to Luke&#8217;s proposal, there were several planning hurdles to overcome. \u201cI am Filipino and little did I know there were quite a few traditions to the typical Filipino wedding,\u201d she explains. She travelled to the Philippines to buy all her wedding items, but unfortunately her\u00a0gown was a flop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the traditions is you\u2019re not allowed to try on your dress before the wedding,\u201d says Catherine. \u201cI managed to convince mum to allow me to try on the dress &#8211; it didn&#8217;t fit, nor did it look right!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I had to start again and look for my wedding dress and five bridesmaid dresses,&#8221; she says. With two failed dresses at home, the third time was a charm.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony at <a title=\"The Holroyd Centre\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Sydney\/TheHolroydCentre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Holroyd Gardens<\/a> in the Merrylands was a celebration of love \u2013 and food! \u201cOur parents organized a banquet of food for the 180 guests,\u201d says the bride. \u201cThe ceremony was amazing with decorations from family and our celebrant Jhunette Lopez was just amazing.
