{"id":193321,"date":"2016-07-13T21:00:22","date_gmt":"2016-07-13T11:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/socheata-martin-jet-thailand-glamorous-destination-wedding\/"},"modified":"2024-03-08T12:12:28","modified_gmt":"2024-03-08T01:12:28","slug":"socheata-martin-jet-thailand-glamorous-destination-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/socheata-martin-jet-thailand-glamorous-destination-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Socheata and Martin jet to Thailand for glamorous destination wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Scared of heights, Socheata Sras couldn&#8217;t understand why boyfriend Martin Hie had taken her to Hong Kong&#8217;s The Peak &#8211; the city&#8217;s highest mountain and home to breathtaking views.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That&#8217;s when he proposed overlooking the beautiful skyline of Hong Kong,&#8221; Socheata, 32, says. &#8220;I was in complete shock and surprise at first but then became overjoyed.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Melbourne pair, who shared an instant attraction after meeting through mutual friends, waited six years before jetting to Thailand for their <a title=\"Thailand Honeymoon Packages\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/honeymoon\/packages\/location\/thailand\/\">destination wedding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our dream wedding was to have an intimate resort-style theme overseas with breathtaking views,&#8221; Socheata explains.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We chose to have an intimate glam wedding to celebrate our love with the people that were\u00a0closest to us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Socheata and Martin, 35, wed on March 7, 2016 at\u00a0Cape Sienna Hotel and Villas in\u00a0Kamala, Phuket, in front of 55 family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Celebrations continued at the venue&#8217;s New Sun Deck overlooking the ocean and the bride planned each detail from the elegant <a title=\"Wedding Flowers\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingFlowers\/\">pink and white blooms<\/a> to the resort theme and homemade decor.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our wedding was beautiful in every way from the design to\u00a0the spectacular fireworks display at the end of our first dance.
