Natasha Martinello and Tyson Sharp grew up together before their friendship blossomed into love.

The Adelaide couple met in high school and were good friends, but that changed into something more. “We went to our year 12 formal together and haven’t looked back,” Natasha, 27, says. “From then on there isn’t much to say but we were just happy, in love and growing up together.”

The couple backpacked around Europe, got a dog and purchased their first house together before Ty, also 27, proposed on their favourite beach. “Although we had been together years and I knew our wedding day wouldn’t be far off I was shocked and obviously extremely excited,” recalls the bride.

Natasha said the planning for their garden wedding began soon after, with the couple wanting an intimate and loved-up day shared with family and close friends.

The pair wed at The Secret Garden, Stirling, in the Adelaide Hills, on November 28, 2015 in front of 117 guests. The reception was held at the same venue, with the medieval-themed castle providing a romantic backdrop to the couple’s magical celebrations.

“We did lots of DIY jobs and I think that added to the look of love and care that went into the day,” Natasha says. “Tyson made the dessert bar top, the wooden cake stand and the wedding sign, and our mums helped us bake for the dessert bar.”

“We kept it simple, personalised to us and made sure the day was about getting married. Nothing else mattered.”

Photos courtesy of Meg Hansen Photography.

Natasha discovered her elegant Elizebeth de Varga gown at Bridal on Pulteney.

Some simple styling, like the large wine barrels, helped bring the garden ceremony to life.

“Guests commented that they didn’t see either of us once without a big grin on our faces,” Natasha says of their garden wedding day.
