{"id":193291,"date":"2016-06-01T09:08:27","date_gmt":"2016-05-31T23:08:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/schoolyard-crush-blossoms-ellen-joshs-elegant-garden-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T18:23:37","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T07:23:37","slug":"schoolyard-crush-blossoms-ellen-joshs-elegant-garden-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/schoolyard-crush-blossoms-ellen-joshs-elegant-garden-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Schoolyard crush blossoms into Ellen and Josh&#8217;s elegant garden wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Ellen Fu and Josh Cadd first met in the schoolyard and more than a decade later realised what they had was much more than a childhood crush.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There was instantaneous attraction for us both, not to mention our\u00a0knowing each other as children making it enjoyable without any discomfort,&#8221; Josh, 33, says of their first date after reconnecting on Facebook 15 years later.<\/p>\n<p>The relationship blossomed and six years later Josh took Ellen, 33, to where it all began for his romantic proposal. &#8220;While\u00a0on our way to dinner I stopped off at our primary school to \u2018have a look around\u2019, I encouraged\u00a0Ellen that she should come with me as it was a beautiful, warm night,&#8221; Josh explains.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As we turned a corner there\u00a0was a picnic blanket with pizza, pasta&#8230; and sparkling wine awaiting us. Ellen was\u00a0shocked and overjoyed, even more so when I got down on one knee.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The couple spent their one-year engagement planning their elegant garden wedding, discovering along the way that Ellen was pregnant!<\/p>\n<p>The Melbourne couple wed at <a title=\"Gardens House\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Melbourne\/GardenHouse\/\">Gardens House<\/a> in the city&#8217;s botanic gardens on February 13, 2016 in an elegant affair\u00a0with 50 friends and family. Celebrations continued at the same venue, allowing guests to relax and enjoy drinks on the lawn.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The\u00a0wedding was not so much about us, but about the people around us. It was so relaxed and off-the-cuff that everyone could be themselves, take their time, talk to everyone and enjoy the\u00a0surroundings,&#8221; Josh says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The weather was perfect and
