{"id":193276,"date":"2016-05-03T21:00:45","date_gmt":"2016-05-03T11:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/keeping-secret-treanna-joel-surprise-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T18:16:04","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T07:16:04","slug":"keeping-secret-treanna-joel-surprise-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/keeping-secret-treanna-joel-surprise-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Keeping it secret: Treanna and Joel&#8217;s surprise wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">When Treanna Adams and Joel Woods&#8217; family and friends arrived at the couple&#8217;s engagement party, little did they know the Brisbane pair got hitched just hours before.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We wanted it to be both\u00a0intimate and a surprise so we decided to have our ceremony with only immediate family\u00a0and a few close friends and we&#8217;d sent out invites to our &#8216;engagement party&#8217; for our 100-plus\u00a0guests to attend in the afternoon,&#8221; Treanna, 35, says of the surprise wedding.<\/p>\n<p>She and Joel, 29, met on the Canadian snowfields and a long-distance relationship ensued before Treanna made the permanent move to Brisbane. The couple then focused on buying a house and starting a family before deciding to make their way down the aisle.<\/p>\n<p>They wed in front of 11 close family and friends at Little Cove Beach in Noosa on October 24, 2015 before heading back to Joel&#8217;s parents&#8217; place\u00a0for the laid-back &#8216;engagement party&#8217; that was actually the pair&#8217;s reception.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The ceremony at Little Cove beach was absolutely beautiful,&#8221; Treanna says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We then travelled back to Brisbane for our beautiful backyard reception\u00a0where everyone was absolutely thrilled and surprised to find out\u00a0that we had been secretly married only hours before!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Photos courtesy of <a title=\"Urban Earth
