{"id":193184,"date":"2016-09-17T21:00:25","date_gmt":"2016-09-17T11:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/scottish-flavour-ashleigh-dans-classic-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T18:59:05","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T07:59:05","slug":"scottish-flavour-ashleigh-dans-classic-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/scottish-flavour-ashleigh-dans-classic-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"A Scottish flavour for Ashleigh and Dan\u2019s classic wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Although Ashleigh Newman knew Daniel Cuthill was the man she was going to marry, she still got a surprise the night he popped the question.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne night he started beating around the bush but, as he hadn\u2019t actually asked the question, I prompted him by saying I couldn\u2019t answer a question that he hadn\u2019t asked,&#8221; laughs\u00a0Ashleigh, 27. &#8220;When he did, I said &#8216;yes&#8217;!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Brisbane pair then chose a <a title=\"Wedding Jewellery\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingJewellery\/\">ring<\/a>, giving Daniel, 35, the chance for a do-over! &#8220;This time he got on bended knee and asked again. It was thrilling to say &#8216;yes&#8217;\u00a0a second time,&#8221; she smiles.<\/p>\n<p>Arriving at Sirromet Winery on January 23, 2016,\u00a0Ashleigh\u2019s family had been helping to calm her nerves, \u201cbut it wasn\u2019t until I reached the end of the aisle to where Dan was waiting that I started to breathe properly again,\u201d\u00a0she recalls.<\/p>\n<p>Their classic wedding celebrated with 100 guests was styled\u00a0in navy blue and gold and featured a hint of Ashleigh&#8217;s heritage. \u201cMy bouquet was wrapped with a piece of tartan from the clan my great-grandfather belonged to and that my mother had used on her <a title=\"Wedding Flowers\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingFlowers\/\">bouquet<\/a>,\u201d describes Ashleigh of her Scottish roots. \u201cI had also requested a Scottish thistle in my bouquet as a way to honour that heritage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was an amazing day, however, more than that, it was the help from href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingDress\/Brisbane\/SelectiveFineFabrics\/\">Selective Fine Fabrics<\/a>, and a dressmaker who, coincidentally, had also made her mother&#8217;s wedding
