Their ceremony at St Catherine\u2019s Greek Orthodox Church in East Malvern was followed by a celebration at the National Gallery of Victoria (<a title=\"NGV International\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Melbourne\/NGVInternational\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NGV International<\/a>) in the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a title=\"Creating a truly family-friendly wedding\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/articles\/creating-family-friendly-wedding\/\">Our wedding day was all about family<\/a>,\u201d explains Kate. \u201cWe both have Greek heritage so those customs and traditions were really important.\u201d This meant plenty of dancing and old rituals in the home with extended family before the big moment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAndrew and I were married by the same priest that married my parents and baptised me and my siblings,\u201d says Kate. They opted for a reception venue that was \u201ca little different\u201d and architecturally beautiful \u2013 but that could also fit 270 people! \u201cThe great hall at the NGV and its stained-glass roof was such a spectacular backdrop,\u201d smiles the bride.<\/p>\n<p>The couple danced the night away with their large family to Greek music \u2013 an important touch according to the bride. &#8220;Dancing is so much a part of how our families love to celebrate joyous occasions,&#8221; remarks Kate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were just so happy and it made us feel good to see our families so happy
