{"id":192704,"date":"2017-04-19T21:00:34","date_gmt":"2017-04-19T11:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/love-and-war-tahnee-and-matt-make-time-for-modern-boho-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T19:56:53","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T08:56:53","slug":"love-and-war-tahnee-and-matt-make-time-for-modern-boho-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/love-and-war-tahnee-and-matt-make-time-for-modern-boho-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Military couple Tahnee and Matt make time for modern boho wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Defence Force member Matt Lee was three months into a deployment to the Middle East when fiance Tahnee Smith decided to propose something &#8220;crazy&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Like getting married on his 10-day deployment leave in 10 weeks&#8217; time kind of crazy,&#8221; Tahnee, 29, recalls.<\/p>\n<p>The Emerald, Queensland couple, who first dated as shy 14-year-olds, faced the challenges many military families experience and their big day had to be put off twice before because of Matt&#8217;s service.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I did the math and the 10 days he was home would be the only time he was guaranteed not to be whisked off over the coming years,&#8221; Tahnee says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Fortunately he agreed to my crazy proposal and nerves quickly turned to excitement as we discussed our new <a title=\"Free To Do List\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/planning-tools\/to-do-list\/\">wedding plans<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tahnee and Matt, 30, held their modern boho wedding on October 26, 2016 at the Capricornian, Emerald in front of 60 family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a loving and emotional ceremony,&#8221; the bride says. &#8220;<a title=\"10 ways to include loved ones in your wedding\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/articles\/10-ways-to-include-loved-ones-in-your-wedding\/\">We included our daughter<\/a>, giving her a ring and speaking our family vows to her. It was special &#8211; we were so proud of her bravery whilst Matt had been deployed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After the ceremony we danced, drank and mingled with our loved ones. went for an early morning hike on the morning of the wedding to collect all the native foliage,&#8221; describes Tahnee. &#8220;I loved the finished archway.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img
