{"id":192622,"date":"2017-01-11T20:00:32","date_gmt":"2017-01-11T09:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/megan-joshua-celebrate-love-low-key-hunter-valley-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-16T19:34:19","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T08:34:19","slug":"megan-joshua-celebrate-love-low-key-hunter-valley-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/megan-joshua-celebrate-love-low-key-hunter-valley-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Megan and Joshua celebrate love in low-key Hunter Valley wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">An engagement ring carefully tucked into a chewing gum packet was the start of a special journey for Megan Willetts and Joshua Gallagher.<\/p>\n<p>The long-time couple, both 32, were taking a walk along a coastal boardwalk and Joshua didn&#8217;t want to miss the opportunity to pop the question.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He had my ring tucked inside a chewing gum packet which I still laugh about to this day,&#8221; Megan says. &#8220;He said if I had seen the box in his pocket I would have known straight away.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Megan and Joshua, who hail from Sydney&#8217;s south-west, headed to one of New South Wales&#8217; most picturesque spots for their Hunter Valley wedding.<\/p>\n<p>Forty-four friends and family watched on as the couple wed on August 22, 2016 &#8211; their six-year anniversary &#8211; at <a title=\"Hunter Valley Gardens\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/Sydney\/HunterValleyGardens\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hunter Valley Gardens<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As Dad and I arrived in the gardens the rain came down. I walked down the aisle in the rain, a moment I&#8217;ll never forget with both hubby and I smiling from ear to ear with so much excitement,&#8221; Megan says.<\/p>\n<p>The celebrations continued at the <a title=\"Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingVenues\/HunterNewcastle\/CrownePlazaHunterValley\/\">Crown Plaza Hunter Valley<\/a>, which added an elegant touch to the low-key celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our day was perfect in every way and it wouldn&#8217;t have been the same without our beautiful family and friends,&#8221; Megan
