They mightn’t love\u00a0the limelight\u00a0but Loren and David of Melbourne may as well get used to it – they’ve won our October Wedding of the Year competition!<\/p>\n

Photographed dreamily by Perla Photography<\/a>, the couple’s laid back wedding was held at their local beach in the bayside suburb Aspendale, followed by a beautifully styled marquee reception in their very own backyard.<\/p>\n

“Loren and I don\u2019t enjoy being the centre of attention, so we were excited for a low-key wedding with a connection to\u00a0the environment and the outdoors which we both love,” explains groom David (the pair are both vegetarians, something which brought them together.)<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the day, the couple says they didn’t realise\u00a0just how much work would be involved in having a home wedding! If they had their time again, they’d opt instead for a casual venue like a yacht club.<\/p>\n

But despite this, they have only the fondest memories. Says David, “The wedding was a reflection of Loren and I and it was an amazing day.”<\/p>\n

We agree!<\/p>\n

Loren and David are now through to the final round of voting which launches February 1, 2017 and may see them win a second honeymoon to Vanuatu courtesy of Air Vanuatu<\/a> and The Havannah Resort<\/a>. Exciting!<\/p>\n
