{"id":181877,"date":"2018-02-08T21:00:07","date_gmt":"2018-02-08T10:00:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/unexpected-detour-leads-shannon-brads-luxe-rustic-wedding\/"},"modified":"2022-03-17T01:35:45","modified_gmt":"2022-03-16T14:35:45","slug":"unexpected-detour-leads-shannon-brads-luxe-rustic-wedding","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/unexpected-detour-leads-shannon-brads-luxe-rustic-wedding\/","title":{"rendered":"Unexpected detour leads to Shannon and Brad&#8217;s luxe rustic wedding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">An unexpected detour on the way to her event management\u00a0graduation ensured bride Shannon was given a proposal to remember.<\/p>\n<p>Now-husband Brad was driving Shannon&#8217;s parents to the event\u00a0when he stopped by a city jeweller.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He asked my parents for their blessing\u00a0and together they created my dream wedding ring,&#8221; Shannon, 22, says.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Weeks later, he proposed to me on the pier at our local lake where we often took our evening walks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Not long after, Brad, 29, took Shannon on a surprise birthday lunch where the couple fell in love with their future wedding venue &#8211; Stones of the Yarra Valley. &#8220;From that day we had both decided that no venue could compare,&#8221; Shannon says.<\/p>\n<p>The couple held their luxe rustic wedding at their dream venue on November 24, 2017 in front of 90 friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>Shannon styled the rustic-glam reception with help from <a title=\"Laurel and Grace\" href=\"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/WeddingFlowers\/Melbourne\/LaurelAndGrace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laurel &amp; Grace&#8217;s<\/a> Laura, who provided not only bouquets and buttonholes, but also event styling, placecards, welcome sign, table runners and the hanging installation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On the big day, I was so in awe of their work. Laura had gone above and beyond and everything was so much more beautiful than my expectations,&#8221; Shannon says.<\/p>\n<p>Despite a few hiccups on the day, Shannon says there is nothing they would change. &#8220;I stayed calm and positive which made all the difference,&#8221;
