Perth girl Rachel first met Scotland-born Jamie in London after she moved there to teach. After two years as a couple, the pair moved back to Australia where Jamie popped the question at quintessential Perth tourist destination – Rottnest Island.

As a history teacher, it made sense for Rachel to wed her beau at a historic venue. The pair, now aged 26 and 31, immediately fell head over heels for 1840 colonial mansion Faversham House in York, Western Australia: the perfect venue for a rustic historic wedding.

Guests from across the globe made the journey to WA for the weekend-long Australiana celebration. Notable features include Australian Honey as part of the wedding favours, Australian natives blended with Scottish flowers for the bouquets and buttonholes, a bagpipe performance and traditional Scottish formalwear for Jamie and his groomsmen.

The night ended with guests singing to Loch Lomond and a surprise FaceTime call from a party thrown especially in Scotland for family and friends who couldn’t make the journey.

Photos courtesy of Bird on the Wall.
