{"id":168162,"date":"2019-07-28T20:00:58","date_gmt":"2019-07-28T10:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/content.easyweddings.com\/au\/real-weddings\/fools-rush-in-karly-and-jonathon-host-elegant-barn-wedding-on-april-1\/"},"modified":"2024-04-09T12:38:19","modified_gmt":"2024-04-09T02:38:19","slug":"fools-rush-in-karly-and-jonathon-host-elegant-barn-wedding-on-april-1","status":"publish","type":"au-real-wedding","link":"https:\/\/www.easyweddings.com.au\/real-weddings\/fools-rush-in-karly-and-jonathon-host-elegant-barn-wedding-on-april-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Fools rush in: Karly and Jonathon host elegant barn wedding on April 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">When it comes to April 1, there\u2019s no fooling around for Karly and Jonathon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn our 10-year anniversary (April 1), Jonathon surprised me with a trip to our favourite holiday destination, Hawaii, and proposed underwater while we were snorkelling at Hanauma Bay,\u201d Karly explains.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we told our friends and family, they didn\u2019t believe us because of course the 1st April is April Fools Day and Jonathon is joker.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>One year later, again on April 1, the couple held their elegant barn wedding at Melross and Willows Estate in NSW\u2019s Kangaroo Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Karly says the country setting was ideal for the laid-back atmosphere the couple was after for themselves and their 110 guests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had three long tables and we sat amongst our guests to create a relaxed, fun and social environment,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe barn itself is beautiful so all we needed to do was decorate it with festoon lights and some greenery and we were done!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After more than a decade together, Karly says it was exciting to celebrate their commitment in front of family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was love, laughter, happy tears, dancing and cake!
