When Alisha had a serious accident in 2015, any plans of a wedding came crashing to a halt. That is, until a few years later, when Michael suggested the pair tie the knot in secret.

“This seemed like the perfect opportunity to have a wedding exactly the way we wanted without any of the fuss. Plus, Mick doesn’t like attention or pressure and I could do without the stress of planning a big wedding!” laughs the bride.

On November 7, 2019, during a week they both coincidentally happened to have off from work, the couple from Northern Victoria headed to Melbourne to exchanged vows. Only two witnessed the vintage wedding ceremony held beside a pond in Fitzroy Gardens— Alisha’s grandmother and Michael’s mum.

“Our wedding was perfect in every way. We didn’t have fancy cars, flower girls, five bridesmaids or two wedding dresses but we had FUN,” smiles Alisha. “We wanted a relaxed day, not overly structured or formal, a little ceremony and some photos to remember it by.”

“When we returned home the next day and made our way through friends and family, every single person was both shocked and extremely happy for us. Any disappointments were completely overshadowed by love for us as a couple.”
