Kennedy wrote for the majority&#8217;s ruling in the historic decision, whose case name is <em>Obergefell v Hodges.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family.
