Who says your wedding needs to be a solemn occasion? In fact, we’re pretty sure celebrating your love should be all about fun and excitement, if that’s how you want to celebrate it. So, if you feel like a traditional wedding ceremony is not for you then you may like some of these adventurous ideas, for adventurous couples!<\/p>\n
If you want to try something a little bit adventurous, but are not exactly an adrenaline junkie then why not consider a fully costumed wedding? This works especially well if you already have a theme. For example, if you are thinking of a Victorian feel, you could up the ante and ask everyone to attend in steampunk <\/a>attire. Other great themes include a pirate wedding, medieval, twenties or, perhaps, costumes inspired by a favourite movie. Many couples dismiss ‘fancy dress’ weddings as being tacky, but if you choose a particular theme and issue a dress code then they can be very beautiful while at the same time being a total departure from what is expected of a wedding!<\/p>\n Another way to get adventurous with your wedding is to fully embrace your theme with a faux destination wedding! If you cannot make your budget stretch to travel to your dream destination, then bring your destination to you! Go all out with decor to make your venue look like it has been transported from your dream destination. You can get as creative as you like. Jungle wedding seemed too impractical? Then transform your venue into an imitation rainforest instead! Wedding decor does not need to be flowers and diamantes!<\/p>\n If you are both truly adventurous souls, the ideas above may seem a little ‘tame’. Let’s call those ‘adventure lite’. However, if you are an adrenaline junkie then you may prefer to do something much more extreme on your big day. Believe it or not, it is possible to have your entire ceremony conducted under water! Some providers even have water proof paper for you to sign. Imagine how exciting it could be to get married with the Great Barrier Reef behind you!<\/p>\n If you are one of those people who always has their head in the clouds then how about marrying up there, too? Hot air balloon weddings can be beautiful and romantic. The one drawback is that only the bride and groom plus the officiant can go up in the balloon which means family will miss out on the ceremony. However, it may be possible to set up a video link so that they are able to watch you exchanging vows.<\/p>\n\n If bungee jumping is not extreme enough, then how about a bit of bridal sky diving? There are a a number of options: You could exchange vows in the plane and then jump, or you can jump first and exchange vows on the ground. This one is not for the feint of heart!<\/p>\n Rock climbing fans could combine their two greatest loves by scaling a mountain and exchanging vows at the summit! This is an exciting way to make your wedding personal to you if you are a fan of such activities, but we are not too sure how many of your guests will be willing to play along.<\/p>\n If you have a passion for things that go bump in the night, then seek out a creepy haunted house as your wedding venue. You could run with the theme and set up some paranormal games for your guests to try out if they are brave enough!<\/p>\n If you really want to top everyone else, then perhaps the most adventurous wedding you can dream up is one that is held in outer space!
