In June, journalist David Kirkpatrick covered Facebook co-founder Sean Parker’s amazing $10 million fantasy nuptials for Vanity Fair magazine. His exclusive story and the magazine’s pictures prove Parker’s big day truly was the fairytale he always intended it to be.

From the stunning, princess-like bride to the woodland wedding reception, Parker’s fantasy themed wedding included lush floral decorations dripping from ancient Redwoods, fur-pelt-strewn beds, feast-filled tents (complete with roasted suckling) and even a 2.7-metre tall (nine-foot) wedding cake.

Image: Vanity Fair/Christian Oth and Mark Seliger
Every detail was personally overseen by the groom who also arranged for each of the 365 guests’ medieval outfits to be created by Lord of the Rings costume designer Ngila Dickson.

Words do not suffice. Well, one word does: Wow!

“The lavish ceremony and reception this past June—shown here, in detail, for the first time—took place not in a cavern, however, but in Big Sur, California, under towering 500-year-old redwoods. Yet treasures and wonders were much in evidence.” writes Kirkpatrick.

The couple’s six-tier, nine-foot-tall wedding cake. At dinner Jack Dorsey sat with Sting, trying unsuccessfully to persuade him to use Twitter, which Dorsey invented. Also on hand: actress Emma Watson, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, California power brokers Gavin Newsom and Kamala Harris, MTV founder Bob Pittman, Wikipedia’s Jimmy Wales, Zynga’s Mark Pincus, Charity Water’s Scott Harrison, Seagram’s scion Ben Bronfman, comedian Olivia Munn, and Facebook co-founders Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. (Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, though invited, sent regrets.)”

Images: Vanity Fair. Photography by Christian Oth and Mark Seliger.
