What began as a professional relationship over email eventually turned to love for Aleisha and Tom.
Tom, 35, was working at a Melbourne radio station when he was contacted by Sydney’s Aleisha, 34, about advertising.
“The back-and-forth was all very professional for a few months, and then Aleisha moved onto a different job. I thought nothing of it – after all, I’d never seen this girl before, but could tell from her writing style that she had a fun personality,” Tom recalls.
A few years later, Tom discovered Aleisha in his “people you may know” section on LinkedIn. The pair then became Facebook friends before they decided to meet up in Sydney.
“I arranged to meet on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. On a still, sunny November evening, my dream girl walked up the famous steps and planted a giant kiss on my lips without uttering any words. It was magical, and we’ve been together ever since,” Tom says.
Ever the romantic, Tom popped the question in Thailand during a beachside dinner. The couple also decided to head overseas for their elegant destination wedding in Fiji.
Forty of the couple’s nearest and dearest jetted to the Outrigger Fiji Beach resort for the celebrations on August 19, 2018.
The ceremony was held in the Bure Ni Loloma chapel overlooking panoramic views of the ocean. The reception followed in a private area overlooking the resort’s pool.
“We laughed, drank and danced the night away and created memories that I know we’ll cherish forever,” Tom says.

“Because our relationship was not limited by distance, we thought the best way to encapsulate our love was with a destination wedding,” explains groom Tom.
“Friends and family travelled from Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide to Fiji’s Coral Coast for a spectacular 6-day adventure, culminating with us exchanging vows in an unforgettable ceremony,” recalls Tom.
Aleisha and Tom’s classic wedding look was a mix of black, white and a splash of tropical greenery.
“Everyone enjoyed being chauffeured to and from the chapel in golf buggies.”
“Aleisha and I farewelled our guests before heading to “Fiji’s Garden Island”, Taveuni, for our romantic honeymoon where we loved snorkelling, coastal treks, sunset cocktails and picnics on deserted islands.”
