When Nicole Welch and Jacob Jolly met at youth group their connection was instant – even though life threatened to get in the way.
“I was due to move overseas to England at the end of the year so right from the outset of our relationship we had to decide what we wanted to do,” Nicole, 24, says.
“Less than two months later we were engaged.”
Jacob, 23, took his bride-to-be out to dinner and a walk along the beach near their NSW Central Coast home, proposing in the same spot his dad had proposed to his mum many years before.
Eighteen months later Nicole and Jacob walked down the aisle in their rustic garden wedding on March 19, 2016.
Somersby’s Linton Gardens hosted the big day, celebrated alongside 100 family and friends.
“The rustic, semi-formal, maroon and brown colour theme tied our personalities, styles and interests together perfectly, and the family and close friends we had invited made the day even more perfect,” Nicole says.
“Our wedding screamed Jake and I.”

Nicole sourced her gorgeous gown from Brides of Beecroft. “My experience with the ladies there was positive and incredibly encouraging and I felt beautiful in the gown,” she says.
With the help of friends and family, Nicole says she and Jacob pulled off the perfect garden wedding.
Nicole chose a colour scheme for her and Jacob’s rustic garden wedding and executed it beautifully.
“The bridal party photo shoot that took place on the property was the highlight of my day because it allowed us time as husband and wife and as a bridal party to chat and hang out and laugh,” Nicole says.
