They mightn’t love the limelight but Loren and David of Melbourne may as well get used to it – they’ve won our October Wedding of the Year competition!
Photographed dreamily by Perla Photography, the couple’s laid back wedding was held at their local beach in the bayside suburb Aspendale, followed by a beautifully styled marquee reception in their very own backyard.
“Loren and I don’t enjoy being the centre of attention, so we were excited for a low-key wedding with a connection to the environment and the outdoors which we both love,” explains groom David (the pair are both vegetarians, something which brought them together.)
Reflecting on the day, the couple says they didn’t realise just how much work would be involved in having a home wedding! If they had their time again, they’d opt instead for a casual venue like a yacht club.
But despite this, they have only the fondest memories. Says David, “The wedding was a reflection of Loren and I and it was an amazing day.”
We agree!
Loren and David are now through to the final round of voting which launches February 1, 2017 and may see them win a second honeymoon to Vanuatu courtesy of Air Vanuatu and The Havannah Resort. Exciting!
