When Luke Bunworth was a no-show to their Tinder date at Outback Jacks, Catherine Barnes thought she’d been stood up.
Little did she know, Luke was having the same thoughts in an Outback Jacks restaurant in a completely different suburb. “We both ended up at the same restaurant chain but in different suburbs,” laughs Catherine. “When finally got to the same place that night, it really broke the ice and we talked for hours – so much so they actually handed us the bill and told us they were closing!”
Luke popped the question a year and a half later, and the Melbourne pair immediately got to planning their rustic garden wedding. They chose to wed on their third anniversary, and decided on garden venue Linley Estate in Kilsyth, Victoria due to its “adorable chapel, and rustic and relaxed feel,” explains Catherine.
Luke and Catherine, now 25, married before 129 guests in brisk Melbourne winter on August 6, 2017.
“The day went perfectly and the sunshine came out for our ceremony when we expected rain,” says Catherine. “We wouldn’t change a thing. We put so much work into planning and making things for our special day, and we’re really happy with how everything turned out.”

Magical Makeovers transformed Catherine into a gorgeous bride with classic bridal makeup and a timeless updo.
The pair were married by a long term family friend of Catherine’s, who she’d met through church.
Catherine’s bridesmaids wore mint floor-length dresses from Ferrari Formalwear, and carried bouquets created by florist Darling Buds.

Catherine advises future newlyweds: “Don’t stress the small stuff. The whole day will be perfect as long as you marry your best friend.”
