When Olivia met Mitch, she knew she’d found the man of her dreams. However, after just a few short months of dating, the couple faced a difficult time apart.
It wasn’t long after they moved in together that army man Mitch was deployed overseas for six months.
“I was devastated! I had just met the man of my dreams and within few months knew he would be deploying for half the year,” Olivia, 29, explains.
It was a difficult six months, but the couple planned a trip to Europe together to have something to look forward to, and it was later in Santorini that Mitch, 31, popped the question.
The Sydney couple enjoyed the process of planning their romantic harbour wedding together.
“We wanted to ensure our wedding was ‘us’ and the flow of the day created a build-up of events with the peak being our surprise fireworks and party to end the night,” Olivia says.
The pair’s romantic outdoor ceremony was held at Clark Park, Lavender Bay on April 28, 2018 in front of 116 friends and family. Reception celebrations followed at Zest Waterfront at The Spit in Mosman.
Olivia describes the romantic harbour wedding as “truly us”.
“From taking advantage of the beautiful Sydney Harbour views, to our afternoon drinks on the deck to formal reception and fireworks, we executed our day perfectly,” she says.
“We walked away from the night genuinely feeling so incredibly happy and proud of the day we had created all on our own.”

“Mitch purchased the ring whilst he was deployed from a diamond park in Dubai and completely surprised me!” Olivia says of her stunning teardrop sparkler. They paired it with a wedding band from Waldemar Jewellers.
For her wedding dress, Olivia chose a form-fitting gown that screamed romance.
Olivia and Mitch say photographer Dan Evans captured their day beautifully. “Nothing was false. Nothing was posed. The photos are so genuine.”
Olivia and her bridesmaids carried matching stunning flower bouquets.
