Teenage sweethearts Rebecca and Blake met when they were just 17 and have pretty much been inseparable ever since.
“In 2016 while travelling together through Europe, Blake proposed at Hotel Artemide, in Rome, on the rooftop. It was a magical night,” Rebecca says.
After about seven years together, couple began planning their traditional wedding in 2017, with everything hinging on the all-important venue.
“We looked at a few venues that we liked, but it was not until we did a tour of the Tradewinds Hotel we knew – this is where we wanted to get married,” Rebecca says.
The couple wed on the deck at the Fremantle venue on March 3, 2018 in front of 100 friends and family.
“Everything was brilliant, I don’t think I could have imagined such a magical night,” the bride says.
“People always say to take it in, it goes by in a flash, but you never really understand it until you have lived through that moment.”

“I decided that my dress would be a surprise for everyone, including my bridesmaids, it was so worth keeping the secret, their reactions were priceless and our photographer captured it perfectly,” Rebecca says. The bridesmaids’ infinity gowns were sourced from The Gown House. Their immaculate hair and make-up was by Total Brides.
“Our wedding was everything we could have dreamed of with our family and friends to help us celebrate,” Rebecca says.
“I chose the King Protea as my feature flower as I wanted to incorporate my South African heritage into my wedding and to honour my family who could not attend due to distance,” the bride says of her bouquet.

Sweet Sorella Cakes created the couple’s cake, which doubled as wedding favours as it was individually boxed for guests.
