Taylor set off on a Contiki tour to New Zealand five years ago to discover herself, but ended up finding so much more.
It was while waiting in a hotel lobby that she first noticed Josh. “Damn, he was gorgeous,” Taylor, 27, says.
“Josh and I kept in contact after NZ mainly through messaging. I was from Sydney and he was in Darwin, in the army. I didn’t expect anything to come from it at first, but we were just so compatible. It didn’t take us long before we started calling each other every day.”
The couple endured more than two years long distance before Josh, 25, made the move to Sydney, later popping the question with a Mission Impossible-style treasure hunt.
When it came to their elegant waterview wedding in Newcastle on September 14, 2018, the couple wanted to make sure it told their unique love story.
“We made it a day that was very us; elegant and classic, with nothing over the top. A lakeside ceremony added to the relaxed, yet stunning backdrop,” Taylor says.
The celebrations were held at elegant Rafferty’s Resort on the shores of Lake Macquarie.
“We could not have asked for a better day,” the bride says. “It felt so natural having our ceremony lakeside with the warmth of the spring sun.”

Taylor discovered her gorgeous embellished gown at Brides of Sydney.
The couple added an elegant touch to the laid-back outdoor setting thanks to their traditional dress code, including Josh’s classic tux from Ferrari Formalwear & Bridal.
“We not only wanted our friends and family to have a great time, but we wanted to enjoy every second of it ourselves,” Taylor says of her waterside wedding.
“We have been, are and will always be forever in love. I am so thankful everyday to have married the incredible man that Josh is. It was the best decision of my life,” Taylor says.
