“Why Tassie?” It’s a question Melbourne couple Caitlin and Bradley have been asked several times since marrying there on February 3, 2018.
“We just felt our love really connect there, fell in love with the city and its surroundings and eventually wish to move there,” explains the bride. The 21-year-old bride and groom had 115 guests for their ceremony at Fitzroy Gardens in Hobart, followed by a reception at Willie Smith’s Apple Shed in the Huon Valley. “Both places are stunning; we did the ceremony completely DIY and the reception was mainly set up before we got there,” says Caitlin.
It was a family effort to marry the pair, who had grandparents fulfill several roles! “My grandfather was our celebrant, our other two grandpas were our witnesses on our certificate and my grandmother gave us blessings and prayer during the ceremony,” smiles the bride. “Our other two nanas have passed, but on the day in remembrance we had two large white balloons, that after the ceremony we walked back down the aisle and let them go.”
“It feels nice to be Brad’s wife,” beams Caitlin. “Getting married and being married, when with the perfect person for you, just feels so right and we truly have become one.”

“Oh boy was it emotional, the second we saw each other, within five seconds we both burst into tears and sobbing with our heads together,” the bride says of the moment her dad saw her.
“I could barely get through my vows but Brad was the strong one out of the two of us,” smiles Caitlin.
The bride’s gorgeous sheer and lace long-sleeve gown from Always & Forever Bridal International was a Peter Trends design.
“Our wedding was one that was so raw, so emotional, with so many special moments and heaps of surprises, with endless smiles and laughs, singing and dancing and beaming with love, it was contagious,” beams the bride.
