Sleek and stylish: Emma and Anthony’s classic city wedding

Sleek modern touches met with Great Gatsby style at Emma and Anthony’s classic city wedding.

“When we started to plan the wedding, we both knew what we wanted. We dreamed of a hotel wedding with a balcony or city view and a slight sleek feel or modern vintage-ness to it,” bride Emma, 27, says.

The Adelaide couple wed at the city’s grand St Patrick’s Church on August 25, 2018 in front of 125 family and friends.

The glamour-filled celebrations stepped up a notch at the reception at Hotel Richmond.

She and Anthony, 33, kept the colour palette to gold, black and marble, perfectly suiting the city venue.

“We had round tables with black tablecloths and gold chiavari chairs, tall gold centrepieces with green and white foliage over-hanging and real glass candles to light our night,” the bride says.

Emma says their classic city wedding captured them as a couple, and advised others planning their big day not to hold back.

“Create it just how you would want to see it in a picture book,” she says.

“We made sure it told a story and you could see who we were as a couple in everything we planned. So much love!”

Glamorous bride Emma says her couture dreams came true thanks to her one-off designer dress.

Emma and Anthony first met via social media. “We took it to late-night phone calls and continuous messaging, I felt like a teenager talking to my crush,” Emma recalls. The pair eventually met up and Emma says it was like dating her best friend. “We were inseparable. We did everything together and still do five-and-a-half years later.”

Wedding transport played an important part of the day, Emma says. “We wanted a traditional church and classic vintage cars.”

The loved-up pair spent their wedding night at the five-star Mayfair Hotel.

“I feel like our wedding is something you’d see in a storybook based off the theme we had for our day,” Emma says.
