What began as a friend request on Facebook quickly grew into love for bride Shiju and groom Eugene.
Both were undertaking medical degrees, but on different ends of the country, when they first made contact.
“From the first time we spoke to the first time we met we knew there was a special connection,” Shiju, 28, says.
The couple later returned to their hometown of Melbourne where Eugene, 34, popped the question. “Eugene proposed on a lovely warm Saturday picnic at the Botanical Gardens with blessings from both our families and a stunning diamond,” smiles the bride.
Romance and glamour ruled the couple’s San Remo Ballroom wedding, held on May 28, 2016.
The ceremony was held at St Mark’s Church in Dingley in front of 275 guests before celebrations moved to the ballroom.
“Our wedding was one of the most magical days of our lives; we laughed, kissed, hugged and danced the day away with our amazing family and friends,” Shiju said.
“We hold each other at the centre of each other’s worlds and hope for our connection to grow.”

Shiju discovered her stunning strapless gown at Brides of Melbourne.
“Our wedding was the day he took my hand and lovingly walked me into our future…we would do it all again if we could,” Shiju says.
Eugene’s groomsmen wore classic grey suits from Ferrari Formalwear. Shiju’s bridesmaids graced gorgeous orange and gold saris.
