Shelby and Connor celebrated their union at the picturesque Tatalia Function Centre located at the Rich River Golf Club. Their love story, spanning over eight and a half years, culminated in a beautiful wedding that captured the essence of their connection.
“Connor proposed by putting the most beautiful ring on my finger in the middle of the night,” Shelby shared. “To this day, he still hasn’t formally asked me to marry him. I thought the way he proposed was perfect and unexpected.”
Their love story began as acquaintances who enjoyed coffee with mutual work friends. However, everything changed one night when Connor attended a party at Shelby’s house and, as she puts it, “never left.” From that moment, their love blossomed, and they became best friends.
When asked about their wedding vision, Shelby revealed, “I had originally wanted to elope on a small destination holiday to save fuss; however, we decided there were so many important people, such as grandparents, that would miss out if we had done this.” The couple discovered Tatalia Function Centre through a colleague of Connor’s and fell in love immediately during a venue tour. They opted for a minimal, classic black-and-white theme. Shelby emphasized, “Our focus was good food, drinks, and music with minimal decorations that could be outdated in the future. We kept it simple.”
The reception area had glass windows overlooking the golf course, creating a breathtaking backdrop. Shelby expressed, “We wanted a place that was already beautiful and didn’t need to be decorated to make it beautiful. Rich River was amazing and was exactly that.” The Tatalia wedding package, including setup and teardown services, contributed to a stress-free experience.
For a quintessentially Australian countryside celebration, Shelby and Connor DIYd many elements of their day. Shelby expressed, “If I could do it all over again, I would do everything exactly the same, it was perfect.”
