“Keep it simple” were three little words that helped Sharon de Baize and Stergios Sakellaridis keep their Vogue Ballroom wedding stress-free.
The Melbourne pair, aged 37 and 30 respectively, married on April 9, 2016 at Elwood Pier, followed by a reception at Vogue Ballroom. They met nine years prior in what Sharon describes as a “real-life Bend it Like Beckham story”. “He was my soccer coach and we were friends for a couple of years … but then we became inseparable,” she says. “The team were so happy to finally know why I had never been benched!”
The main goal of their wedding, other than to get married of course, was to have a relaxed, fun-filled time. “When planning our wedding I was told by just about everyone that I was the most relaxed and easy-going bride,” says Sharon. “I knew what I wanted and we were lucky to have great support around us.”
She says the only requests were they have something by the water, something simple, not to wait too long and for the day to reflect them as a couple.
“On a beautiful sunny April day, we had our ceremony on Elwood Pier in front of 260 friends and family,” descirbes the bride. “The pier was decorated with white fold chairs, a red carpet, bamboo arch and a few other finer details.”

Stergios and his crew found their suits at Andre J Menswear.
“This dress made me feel like a princess,” says the bride of her elegant strapless gown from Be A Star Bridal.
Giant LOVE letters were a great addition for photos by Passion8 Photography.
The bridesmaids were given the green light to choose their own dresses, as long as they were the same colour.
Sharon ordered her cake toppers online which also included their fur-babies!
