While living and working in London, Sharelle met Warren who, at the time, was on a working holiday from Australia. Despite their chance meeting in the UK, the pair originated from the same country: Zimbabwe.
“It was clearly meant to be and written in the stars,” laughs Sharelle, 29.
After two years of dating, Sharelle and Warren, now 34, settled back on Australian shores. When they later came to plan their wedding, a destination wedding in South Africa made perfect sense to the Zimbabwe-born couple.
“Our families live worlds apart and a destination wedding would be the easiest. We chose a beautiful winery in Stellenbosch, South Africa.”
After planning and booking vendors from their home in Australia, the pair exchanged vows in Cape Town at their romantic winery wedding alongside 120 family and friends from across the globe.
Both cultures featured on the day, with flowers from Amsterdam and Kenya and Western and African beats all night long.
“We enjoyed ourselves so much, we were kicked out with the rest of the wedding guests!” laughs the bride.

Sharelle paired her elegant gown with Badgley Mischka wedding shoes.
“Warren and I have always had a relaxed elegance as I would call it. We can dress up to the nines, but also dress relaxed in our singlets and shorts. I feel this is exactly how our wedding went. Elegant but with a very relaxed atmosphere.”
“Our venue had high timber beams, textured walls and a concrete floor. Our idea was to soften the space but still have the rustic elements of the venue.”
