It took Melbourne couple Shantael and Nicholas three years to plan out their elegant garden wedding.
“We never wanted to be caught up in the details, but just wanted to enjoy the journey together,” recalls Shantael, 29. “We did everything our own individual way from start to finish. It helped us grow as a couple and lead us to having our authentic, dream wedding.”
Shantael and Nick, 35, married with an intimate garden ceremony and cocktail reception alongside 30 close family and friends at Alowyn Gardens in the Yarra Valley. Highlights included delicious wood fire pizza by Hot Coals Catering and plenty of dancing beneath festoon lighting provided by Betta Event Hire.
Then, after 9PM, kick ons took place across the road at Balgownie Estate Vineyard Resort & Spa where guests were treated to cheese and dessert platters.
“We were blessed to have the most beautiful wedding day. It was honest, authentic, intimate, romantic, simple and filled with so much love. We enjoyed every moment spent together and with our friends and family.”

Nick popped the question during a holiday to Thailand. “He took me for a walk along our private beach. We walked out onto the pier and while I was looking out at the sunset over the beach and the city lights in the distance, I turned around and found Nick on one knee,” recalls the bride.
Live musicians from Playback Melbourne ensured guests were entertained throughout the ceremony and reception.
