When Sarah Sadeik and Shaun Anderson shared their first kiss on Sydney’s Maroubra beach, little did they realise they would be marrying on the same spot seven years later.
“We both love the water and outdoors and so were searching for a stunning ocean backdrop for a destination wedding, but we were also searching for something that would be special for us and somewhere that summed up our story,” Sarah, 28, explains.
Shaun, 31, proposed in Paris and the couple had just over a year to plan a fairytale-themed surf club wedding at Horizons in the South Maroubra Surf Life Saving Club.
The pair wed on December 13, 2014 in front of 140 friends and family.
The couple was keen to involve family and friends – they were married by a close family friend and Shaun’s sister Jessica, from Style Hire & Assembly, helped create the wedding of their dreams.
“It became a DIY project for both Jessica and I to work on together which was really special. Every element of our wedding was planned and handmade by someone close to us,” Sarah says.
“It truly was a family affair and it was honestly the best day ever. We cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together.”

Sarah’s gorgeous gown was sourced from Idora Bridal. Her bridesmaids wore complementing White Runway strapless dresses.
“It really captured us as a couple, our backgrounds and our whole relationship,” Sarah says of her special day.
The stunning ocean backdrop made for some beautiful photographs.
Jessica Grace Flowers designed beautiful, modern bouquets for the wedding party.
“Everything was unique to us, including the props, table numbers and flower jars/vases were created/sourced by Jess and the team at Style H&A,” Sarah says of the wedding styling.
Sarah paid tribute to her roots with a Lebanese drummer setting the beat shortly after the couple arrived at the reception. “It was surreal to have him play while we were lifted up in the air and everyone danced around us,” Sarah says.
