Samantha and Matt describe their elegant romantic wedding as the culmination of eight years of love all wrapped up in one perfect day.
The Sydney couple treated their 140 friends and family to a beautiful celebration at Palm Beach Golf Club on March 24, 2018.
“We liked the idea of having a weekend of events so we could make the most of our time to see our family and friends who had travelled for our wedding so organized a dinner for Friday night at The Newport and a brekky at my parent’s place in Avalon for the morning after,” Samantha, 29, says.
She and Matt, 34, wed in a beachside ceremony to the acoustic sounds of Paper Hearts, before the celebrations moved inside the venue.
The bride says she has her friends and family to thank, including those who put together the flowers, baked the cake and made a fun photobooth, for the day’s success.
“It was really important to us that our wedding was full of family, friends, laughing and love and it ended up being everything we imagined,” she says.
“Having so many of our friends as part of our big day also made our wedding even more special.”

Despite trying on another seven dresses, Samantha couldn’t go past her first pick, the Grace Loves Lace Paloma gown.
The pair says their wedding day felt like a blur, and they urge future couples to make sure they take time out to relax and take it in.
“Matt and I met eight years ago at a friend’s birthday party,” Samantha says. “I had just finished my university studies and a few drinks had given me a bit of extra courage to approach Matt and ask him if he could get me a job. He replied with ‘I can’t promise anything but I can give you a kiss!’.
Samantha’s bridesmaids opted for classic black jumpsuits. “It was a very flattering shape on all the girls and it looked great on them all,” she says.
Matt popped the question overlooking the ocean. “Our proposal was a big surprise to me – which was surprising in itself because Matt is hopeless at keeping secrets and is a complete open book!” Samantha says.
“It was really important to us that our wedding was full of family, friends, laughing and love and it ended up being everything we imagined,” the bride says.
