Georgia and Evan’s future was foretold five years before when they were on a romantic picnic date in the mountains.
“A passerby commented ‘he better be proposing with a date like that’ so it seemed poetic to go back and propose there,” explains Evan.
He replicated that picnic date and surprised Georgia with a romantic proposal under the stars.
In planning their rustic autumn wedding, the couple wanted to reflect their fun-loving and relaxed personalities and take the ‘stiffness and pomp’ out of getting married and also give Georgia a chance to display her creative side.
“We were set that the wedding day is not the most important but the marriage is and we wanted to reflect that in the day and its style,” explains the groom.
The NSW pair, both aged 25, wedded in a religious ceremony at St John’s Anglican Church in the presence of 180 of their friends and family on May 18, 2019.
“When it comes to wedding planning, don’t sweat the small stuff! Know that you can’t please everyone and that’s ok because it’s about the day being special for us, not anyone else.”

“I really did not have an idea of what kind of dress I wanted going in. I found a dress very early into the engagement and put a deposit for it but it didn’t feel quite right. I kept looking and stumbled across this beautiful gown that was the style I didn’t know I was looking for!” the bride says of her gorgeous dress that she found at Perfect Day Bridal.
The one thing Evan wanted from his suit was the trim around the pocket square matching the tie clip.
