Hayley and Sam never crossed paths (which is so rare in a small town!) till one fateful day and they’ve never left each other’s sides since.
“We started spending time together and never really stopped,” laughs Hayley.
“I’ve always said I never wanted to be proposed to on my birthday because it was already an occasion so one year when Sam asked what I wanted for my birthday I joked that I wanted a ring but I never expected him to actually get me one!”
Sam took Hayley out on her birthday, starting with breakfast and a romantic walk along the beach on Coffs Harbour. Insisting that there were too many people, Sam then took Hayley to a quiet lookout where he got down on one knee and popped that question.
For their romantic beach wedding, the pair’s priorities were to stay within budget and throwing the best party people will remember! With that in mind, together with 80 of their closest friends and family, Hayley and Sam wed in an outdoor ceremony on December 1, 2018.
“All our friends said it was the most fun they have had at a wedding because it didn’t feel too formal and everyone was just having fun and enjoying themselves!”

The loved-up pair said their ‘I do’s’ with wedding rings from Michael Hill Jeweller.
Flight Centre arranged the newlyweds’ honeymoon in the beautiful Maldives.
“Sarah from Bye Bye Blackbird is so kind and friendly and very easy to work with,” praises the bride. “She made us feel so comfortable and captured so many beautiful memories from our day.”
