Dreamy views and autumn hues at Jess and Jack’s Riverstone Estate wedding

On the day of their Riverstone Estate wedding in Victoria’s scenic Yarra Valley, this couple was so keen to spend the rest of their lives together – they got a head start.

Most couples spend their last hurrah of single life separately. Not Jess and Jack. Their Riverstone Estate wedding day got started before they even arrived at the venue.

“We got ready at the same house and did a first look at the property before the ceremony,” explains the Melbourne duo of their April 9, 2021 autumn wedding.

“It allowed us to spend as much time as possible on the day together.”

Jess and Jack’s Riverstone Estate wedding was all about those postcard-famous Yarra Valley views. Set among 360-degree vistas of vineyards, rolling hills and the gorgeous French provincial homestead on site, the couple’s forever after “officially” began on the ceremony lawn outdoors with celebrant Megan Thompson.

Debbie O’Neill had already been there to work her floral flair, styling the timber teepee arbour in fiery fall colours. Jack and his groomsmen stood waiting before an intimate crowd of around 60 guests when Jess’s chief bridesmaid appeared in a flattering floor-length Oleg Cassini gown, led by the couple’s tuxed-up white terrier.

Then, all eyes were glued to the bride. Radiating happy, Jess appeared sporting a huge bouquet that popped against her white Mia Solano wedding gown from Luv Bridal.

When it was time for bridal party photos, Jess and Jack were in not one, but two pairs of expert photographer hands. Jack’s brother, Yarra Valley photographer Michael Briggs, was this time on the other side of the lens, lending his guidance for the beautifully candid photographs by peer photographer Dan Brannan.

We love the Yarra Valley and Riverstone Estate has some of the best views you can get of this great place. We’d envisioned a small wedding with close friends and family. The venue was the perfect place to have both the ceremony and reception, rather than wasting time travelling between. The lawn area was perfect for our ceremony. Guests utilised the deck during couple portraits and also as the dancefloor later in the night. A sit-down dinner was held inside the venue providing an intimate setting with all the guests. We were so happy with how our day panned out, we wouldn’t want to change anything!

This classic elegant wedding at Riverstone Estate was captured beautifully by Dan Brannan.

Jess’s Mia Solano gown from Luv Bridal was a mermaid style with a lace high neck and sheer lace back joined by covered buttons and a train.

Debbie O’Neill created floral arrangements for the wedding arch, table centrepieces, buttonholes and bouquets – using dahlias, roses and autumn foliage.

“Megan wrote a totally personalised ceremony and delivered it with such professionalism. She completely captured the relaxed and intimate vibe that we wanted.”

Riverstone Estate catered a delicious wedding menu that included:

• Canapés; served during couple portraits.
• A sit-down share plate dinner: antipasto, chicken, beef, pumpkin lasagna, gnocchi, mixed vegetables and potatoes.
• Petit fours; served for dessert along with the wedding cake.

Jess’s bridesmaids were dressed in Oleg Cassini gowns. “The colour  was ‘biscotti’ which is a neutral colour and allowed us to have bright florals.”
