Sophie and Hayden’s country romantic wedding was as low-key and relaxed as they are.
“Our main aim when planning our wedding was for it to be fun and chill,” Sophie explains.
The couple had met while celebrating a mutual friend’s 30th.
Two years later, after welcoming their first child, Hayden popped the question. “He hid an engagement ring in our son’s nappy and got down on one knee behind me when I went to change him, it was a clean nappy thankfully!” Sophie recalls.
The couple chose Ace Hi Ranch in Boneo on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula for the country romantic wedding on May 4, 2019.
Their ceremony was held in the rustic venue’s chapel in front of 150 friends and family, before the fun-filled reception at the same venue.
“We are not religious or traditional, so we had a friend act as celebrant, with an official celebrant doing the legals and our little boy acted as ring bearer and took the role very seriously.,” Sophie says.
“We had the wedding of our dreams.”

Sophie wore her mum’s off-the-shoulder wedding dress for her own special day.
“We had an uneven bridal party due to the friend who introduced us passing away. So, it was a touching moment when one of the groomsmen brought her bouquet down the aisle,” the bride says.
The happy couple sourced their rings from Michael Hill.
