Rachel Levy and Brad Cohen had a simple formula for wedding day success – family, friends and spirituality.
Rachel, 24, says she and Brad, 27, wanted to inject both their religion and their sense of fun into their January 5, 2015 Jewish wedding.
The Sydney couple married at Miramare Gardens in Terry Hills in front of 300 guests.
“Our Judaism is very important to us and our ceremony was imbued with much ritual and symbolism,” Rachel explains.
“My brother, a Rabbi, married us, which was very special.”
The reception was held at the same venue and the bride was determined to bring the outdoors in.
“Because we couldn’t have our function outside, we brought the garden inside with beautiful trees placed around the room and the chairs and tables draped with flowers and candles,” Rachel says.
“The function was one big party, our friends and family didn’t sit for a second and no one wanted the night to end.”

Rachel and Brad met through a mutual friend and three years later Brad proposed while the pair were stand-up paddleboarding at sunrise.
The reception brought the outside in with some help from arrangements by Grandiflora.
