No one likes a set-up, especially when it’s your parents playing matchmaker, but for Natalie and Dimitrios it could have paid off.
The couple met online, and it was only later that they discovered their parents had been playing Cupid.
“Little did we know our parents had met six months prior when Dimitri’s mother and father bought his 21st birthday present from Natalie’s mother at Myer. This was when our parents attempted to set us up – the rest is obviously history,” Natalie explains.
The Adelaide couple hit it off instantly. “Everything felt very natural with Dimitri from the get go,” Natalie says.
After a romance-filled proposal at beachside Glenelg, the couple began planning their romantic classic wedding.
“Our aim was to create a wedding that was classic and elegant. Something timeless that wouldn’t date and felt like me,” the bride explains.
The pair wed at St George Greek Orthodox Church in Thebarton on May 4, 2019, surrounded by 250 family and friends.
The celebrations continued at Adelaide’s John DiFede Reception Centre.
“The mood was set from the beginning of the night with our grand entry of traditional drums,” Natalie says.
“A truly magical moment and highlight of our day was our first dance, where we danced to Can’t Help Falling in Love with dry ice and fireworks.”

Groom Dimitrios looked sharp in a tuxedo and patent shoes from Joseph Uzumcu.
“I feel my wedding dress was the best of both worlds as I was able to have a grand train and skirt but at the same time experience a fitted and romantic dress that was practical for celebration and dancing,” Natalie says of her Pronovias gown which was altered by Eliza French.
“By the end of the day, I realised the true meaning and priority of the wedding was marrying my best friend and soulmate,” Natalie says.
As well as using a top-notch photographer, the couple also had videographers I Do Cinema capture the day.
“I believe our day was special in every way, however what made it most special were the beautiful family and friends who celebrated with us and shared in the love,” Natalie says.
