Good things come to those who wait.
And lucky for Steve Randall, 29, he had a very patient girlfriend in Emma Holmes, 32. The pair met in 2007 at a Saints and Sinners night in Frankston, Victoria. A few months later they were official and by 2009 they were living in a home they built together. “I was sure an engagement would be following soon,” explains Emma. “How wrong I was.”
Fast-forward five years and Steve mustered up the courage to propose during a holiday in Tasmania. Despite the wait, Emma says it was unexpected and a “beautiful moment”. “After Steve proposed I wasted no time getting planning!” she smiles.
The couple chose March 28, 2015 as it shared the anniversary of Emma’s parents. They gave their blessing of course, says Emma. It was all about location, location, location for this pair and their rustic wedding. “I grew up on a large property in Dromana, it was a beautiful location with views of the bay and all the way to the city,” says Emma. “They had an old winery that was basically empty so I asked if we could use it and the owners were very happy to have us there.”

Emma chose multi way wrap gowns in burnt orange for her bridesmaids. The cut allowed the girls to create three different looks.
Emma discovered Main Entertainment at the races before she was even engaged and later hunted them down to provide the ceremony music.
“We are each other’s best friends and although we are very different we balance each other out,” Emma says of her and Steve.
Guests walked away with gifts cleverly created by Emma; jar glasses hand painted with chalkboard paint and individual guest’s names.
